Join Health Outreach Partners (HOP) and our panelists for this webinar considering the future of addressing transportation barriers for patients of community health centers (CHCs). Transportation is consistently identified as one of the top social determinants of health impacting patient’s access to care, and any health center efforts to address health disparities need to focus on transportation as a health equity issue. As the COVID-19 pandemic has only exacerbated this issue, it is important to rethink and begin planning for how transportation can be safe and accessible for those who need it.
HOP addresses the current state of transportation barriers given the COVID-19 pandemic, highlights the equity issues that make access more difficult for certain groups, and emphasizes the importance of strategic planning for transportation solutions/interventions. Panelists from two CHCs present and discuss how they have addressed transportation issues for their patient populations and the key considerations needed when planning these efforts.
