Dear HOP partners,
We end 2019 with exciting news! The search for our next leader has concluded, and Health Outreach Partners’ Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Cynthia (Cindy) Selmi has joined our team as Executive Director, effective November 4, 2019.
Cindy brings enthusiasm and passion to HOP. She has over 30 years of health center experience and an unrelenting commitment to high quality patient care, expanding access to health centers, and advancing leadership among health center staff. Her passion for increasing access to reproductive health led her to join Planned Parenthood in 1990, where she delivered essential health education and information to her community. During this time, she also worked for Kaiser Permanente as an HIV educator and provided support to people living with HIV during an uncertain and challenging time in the AIDS/HIV epidemic.
Cindy comes to us from Planned Parenthood Northern California where she served most recently as the Senior Regional Director, overseeing eight health centers in the San Francisco Bay Area. She has extensive experience in health center operations, customer service, and improving quality measures for an enhanced patient experience. Cindy’s dedication to her team’s career development and the future of healthcare leadership led her to spearhead an emerging leaders training initiative to grow staff as the future leaders of Planned Parenthood health centers.
Cindy is a native to the Bay Area, originally from San Francisco. Cindy has a bachelor’s degree from the University of California at Santa Cruz in Biology. She started her health center career volunteering for the Haight Ashbury Free Clinic for seven years. This experience was pivotal in fueling her desire to serve vulnerable populations and work in the health center movement. Cindy is also a recent graduate of the Clinic Leadership Institute, a joint venture of the Healthforce Center at the University of California, San Francisco and the Blue Shield Foundation of California.
Please join us in welcoming Cindy as our next Executive Director. The staff and board look forward to working with Cindy and are excited for the future of HOP. Lastly and with much gratitude, we thank Kristen Stoimenoff, interim CEO, for her years of service to HOP and for her extraordinary leadership during our time of transition. We wish Kristen success in her future journey.
Warm Regards,
Vernita Todd
