With the rapid spread of ridesharing services such as Lyft and Uber, many organizations have been turning to this innovation to help their patients overcome transportation barriers to care. Learn from panelists and HOP presenters about considerations and challenges when engaging in ridesharing efforts at your own organization. Vickie Lamoureux and Roy Lamphere from Thundermist Health Center in Rhode Island will detail how they use Uber to ensure their patients make their appointments. They will discuss why they sought out ridesharing as a solution to their patients’ transportation barriers, and the financial rationale behind that decision. Michelle Hansen of the American Cancer Society (ACS) has explored several ridesharing options for ACS partners in her region and will speak to the different considerations that are being taken for implementing these programs in a variety of settings.
