Where We've Been in 2015


Every year, Health Outreach Partners staff travel to different places around the country to attend and present at conferences, provide on-site trainings to health centers, conduct regional trainings for Primary Care Associations, and to do research for our various informational resources. 2015 has been a great year for travel. We piloted our new Planning and Evaluating Integrated Community Health Outreach Programs Curriculum with two unique outreach programs in California and Georgia. The curriculum approaches outreach program planning comprehensively by looking at how outreach programs are integrated within the larger health center. The experience reminds me of the importance of piloting and getting feedback directly from our audience to create services that are truly responsive to outreach program needs.

HOP collaborated with two state PCAs to develop and provide a customer service curriculum targeting audiences beyond outreach workers, including board members and administrative staff. Providing good customer service extends the relationships and trust that outreach programs establish within a community through the entire pathway to care. The curriculum to supports a core goal of outreach programs: empowering underserved and vulnerable population in accessing quality healthcare.
